On Halloween the gallery opened their doors to hand out goodies and also to offer face painting. We also had a costume contest.
These are a few of the members who came for the fun.
We are so fortunate that one of the members bought our building and are allowing us to use it for our gallery. She had the front spruced up with a new awning. We also have a new banner with our painting logo.

October Program Meeting: Glenna Lybrand on Better Photography
Glenna Lybrand, a member of Ouachita Artists was our featured speaker for our October Program meeting. She gave us basic tips for better photography and used her photographs she has taken over the years of her many world and local travels.
She stressed to get a simple, easy to use, point and shoot camera with a good lens, flash options and operational functions directly on the back of the camera. And to keep the batteries charged.
She uses a Canon digital.
In composition to achieve optimum impact to use the "rule of thirds".
Other things she stressed was how to use your background and your foreground to best advantage.
She showed us how to use lighting and framing techniques and how to take advantage of reflections to make our photograph's pop.
She showed how to use your zoom to best advantage as well.
Basically she told us to just have fun with our cameras.
She showed how you can make your photos into printed scrapbook pages and now she basically uses an online program called Shutterfly. For around $35 you can have a nice bound book made from your own photographs.
We had a great turnout for her presentation.
